What is Botulinum Toxin?
Botulinum Toxin is a naturally occurring protein derived from the Bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The popular brand names used in the UK are BOTOX, DYSPORT VISTABEL and AZZALURE. When used cosmetically, it can smooth out dynamic lines, restoring a more youthful, less stressed expression to your face.
Is Botulinum Toxin safe?
Botulinum Toxin injections have been used safely and effectively by trained medical practitioners for over 20 years. Tens of thousands of patients receive Botox treatment every year making it the number one cosmetic procedure in the UK. It is licensed to treat many medical conditions, and can be safely given to children as young as 2.
How does Botulinum Toxin work?
Whenever you laugh, frown, concentrate or squint your facial muscles contract and your skin creases. As you get older your skin loses its elasticity and those creases deepen into lines that become permanently etched on your face. Frown lines between your eyes can become particularly noticeable at a relatively young age, making you look angry, worried or stressed even when you're not.
By injecting tiny amounts of Botulinum Toxin very precisely into specific facial muscles, the nerve impulses responsible for contraction of these muscles are blocked. This causes a temporary weakness or paralysis of that muscle resulting in the overlying skin becoming smooth and unwrinkled.
What are the benefits?
-
By relaxing the muscles that cause frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet:
-
The skin appears dramatically smoother
-
Facial lines disappear or diminish dramatically in just a few days
-
The creation of more wrinkles is prevented
-
Normal activities can be resumed immediately
-
It only takes a few days for the injections to begin to take effect and 14 days for full effect
Preparing for the treatment
During your consultation a full medical history will be taken to assess your suitability, and the benefits and potential side effects will be discussed in full.
What is the treatment like?
Tiny micro-needles are used so discomfort is minimal. No sedation or local anaesthetic is required and treatment takes around 10 minutes.
After the treatment
You can resume normal activities, drive yourself home or return to work immediately after the treatment. Exercise should be avoided for 4 hours after the treatment, and the area should not be touched in this time. You should also avoid laying down. It is safe to fly after the treatment although we generally recommend that you wait 24 hours. You are advised to attend for a review 2-3 weeks after your first treatment.
Lip Enhancement
What is Lip Enhancement?
Restylane Lip Volume provides improved lip fullness to the body of the lips. Volume loss of the lips occurs naturally with time, and replacing this volume can result in more youthful looking lips. Here at Elements we will be able to advise you on the appropriate treatment for the aesthetic outcome you are looking for.
Procedure
Before having the treatment an anaesthetic is injected to numb the lips prior to lip enhancement and areas such as the vermillion border, the philtrum, cupids bow, and lip body can be enhanced. There may be some swelling and bruising after lip enhancement.
Background Information
Restylane lip products, like all other Restylane products are based on stabilised hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin and manufactured using our patented technology called NASHA. This produces a filler gel that many believe is one of the most effective and advanced in the world.
With 15 years of research and millions of treatments performed worldwide since 1996, Restylane products have well-documented safety and effectiveness. And perhaps above all - they give results you can truly see and feel, yet always in a natural way. Restylane lip products also contain lidocaine to ease discomfort during treatment.

Smoothing out wrinkles and softening folds can make an enormous difference to your appearance. By restoring volume your skin will look smoother and softer, giving you a fresher more youthful glow.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are sterile gels used to plump up areas of the skin, helping them look firmer and restoring the skin's former youthful appearance. Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid (HA) filler to be given FDA approval in 2003 and is now the most tried and tested of all hyaluronic acid fillers currently available.
With a safety profile of less than 1:20,000 patients experiencing hypersensitivity, Restylane is regarded worldwide as the global benchmark of proven quality, efficacy and safety with 10 million treatments as further testimony to its pedigree. This in combination with unrivalled training and business support reiterates why Restylane is the Practitioner's first choice in facial aesthetics.
Teosyal Global
Diminishes the appearance of frown lines on the forehead and the glabella lines above the nose.
Softens the harsh creases from the nose to the mouth (naso-labial lines).
Corrects marionette lines at the corners of the mouth (oral commissures).
Teosyal Ultra Deep
Plumps cheeks and accentuates natural features, e.g. high cheek bones
Corrects deep facial lines and folds
Smoothes the hollowness in the tear trough area between the upper cheek and eye area
What is the treatment like?
The filler is injected with a very fine needle under the skin surface. An anaesthetic cream will be applied to the area for approximately 20 - 30 minutes prior to the treatment. Any discomfort is therefore minimal. For lip treatments, an anaesthetic nerve block is used which is similar to a dental injection. Treatments then take about 20 - 30 minutes.
After the treatment
The results with dermal fillers are instant. Afterwards the treated area may be slightly red and/or slightly swollen; however you can resume normal activities, drive yourself home or return to work immediately after the treatment.
How long will the effects last?
This depends on the product used and the structure of your skin. Other factors such as lifestyle, age and the degree of perfection demanded by the individual will also influence the life of the filler. Hyaluronic acid products typically last 6-12 months, Additional touch up treatments can be performed at any time after the initial treatment.
Who is not suitable for treatment?
Dermal fillers have not been tested in pregnant or nursing women, and are therefore not advised. If you have a history of cold sores in the area to be treated, it is advisable that you take anti-herpes medicine (which we will prescribe) before and after the treatment to help reduce the likelihood of an outbreak of cold sores.
Are there any side effects?
Although uncommon, possible adverse effects may include:
-
Injection-related reactions. These reactions may include swelling, redness and discomfort, itching and bruising at the injection site immediately after the treatment. Such reactions are typically mild and resolve within a few hours.
-
Allergic reaction. The risk of an allergic reaction is extremely rare and they are usually self-limiting. Allergic reactions can however be treated with oral or injectable corticosteroids or the product removed using an injectable enzyme (hyaluronidase).
-
Infection. As with all injections, this procedure carries a risk of infection. The syringe is sterile and standard precautions associated with injectable materials are always taken.

Underarm Sweating

What is botox and how does it work?
Botox is a treatment given by injection into the skin. It is recommended for the treatment of auxiliary hyperhidrosis and it has been used for many years to treat muscle spasm affecting the eyes, face and neck. Botox is also used to relieve muscle spasm in children with cerebral palsy.
Botox is a very pure preparation of a protein, botulinum toxin type A. When small doses are injected into the skin, Botox blocks the actions of the nerves that supply the eccrine glands, this prevents the glands from producing sweat. Botox blocks the nerve endings but over about 6-12 weeks new nerve endings grow to replace them. This means that the effects of treatment last for several months but eventually they will wear off.
What happens during treatment?
Using a very fine needle, your nurse will inject a small amount of a solution of Botox into 10 to 15 places about 1cm apart and spread evenly in each armpit. Sometimes a dye is used to show up the areas where sweating is greatest and where the injections should be placed. A course of treatment takes about 30 minutes.
Your nurse will advise you about when to return for further treatment.
Microslerotherapy
What is Microslerotherapy?
Microslerotherapy is used to treat thread veins on the legs by injecting a substance known as sclerosant. This substance causes a swelling in the vein wall which over a couple of weeks will encourage the vein to either become less visible or making it not visible at all. This treatment is commonly used on the legs however for thread veins on the face we offer the IPL Foto Facial treatment as a small amount of scarring can occur with Microslerotherapy.
How many treatments will you need?
A single blood vessel may need to be injected more than once but this is dependant upon its size. We recommend having the next injection done a month later. Most patients do require between 2 and 6 treatments at 4 to 8 week intervals.
What risk come with having Microslerotherapy?
Whilst having the treatment you may experience some pain or burning from the injection site and following the procedure you may experience some restlesness during the night due to swelling of the vein walls. Where the injections have been done these may look like insect bites and may occasionally itch.

Prices £399.00
What is Mesotherapy?
It is a minimal invasive procedure which is used to treat injuries and medical condtions. It specifially targets problem areas using microinjections of vitamins, minerals, amino acids or medicine into the mesoderm layer of the skin (middle layer of the skin).
What can it be used to treat?
Mesotherapy can used to treat several different conditions such as rejuvenating and tightening the skin as well as mnimalising stretch marks. It can be combined with Hyaluronic acid to greatly improve hydration and moisture levels. Mesotherapy is also great for fluid retention, lymphatic drainage, localised fat reduction and skin rejuvenation. The treatment works by a mixture of vitamins, homepathic ingredients, amino acids and medications are injected into the problem area. This mixture stimulates the fat cells and causes them to break away from the network of connective tissues in teh skin. The excess depositys of fat are dissolved and come out through the bloodstream by the kidneys and the bowels.
Mesotherapy for the Chin and Jowl
Naturally as we start to age the skin around the neck and jowl area can start to sag anf at can be gained or lost in different areas of the face which changes the contour of our face and makes us look older. By using Mesotherapy and a mx of antioxidants and amino acids this treatment can help remove fat deposits unde rthe chin and firm up any loose skin on both sides of the face and neck. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin and it plumps the skin to give your face a more youthfull appearance. However as we age levels of hyaluronic acid decreases making the skin lose its youthful appearance. Mesotherapy can help you restore youthful looking skin and plump out fine lines.
